The Mid-Autumn Festival, Zhongqiu Jie (中秋节) is also called the Moon Festival. In China, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a celebration of the harvest and many fruits. It is also a reunion time for families similar to Thanksgiving in the United States. The roundness of the moon represents the reunion of the family. Families have dinner together on the evening of the Mid-Autumn Festival and gather to appreciate the moon, light paper lanterns, and best of all eat mooncakes!
