端午节 Dragon Boat Festival - June 5, 2022

Due to Covid precautions, the Southwest Florida Chinese Association held an outdoor event at Estero Park to celebrate Duan Wu Jie, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival. This Chinese traditional festival is a day of commemorating the story of Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet, and is celebrated with dragon boat races and eating zongzi, a sticky rice dumpling made of glutinous rice filled with meats, beans, and other fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves.
